"I have worked with Scott on many individual projects over a number of years. The reason I keep coming back to Scott is that he offers a faster implementation at a very competitive price. Since he offers everything from detail design through turnkey integration, I can always count on him to complete the implementation in a shorter amount of time while delivering an optimal design."

About Us
Distribution Technologies creates materials handling solutions that maximize the efficiency of both your operations and your capital budget. Although we’ve developed relationships with dozens of excellent equipment suppliers, we remain independent. Therefore our focus is on creating the best solution rather than selling you expensive equipment.
What makes Distribution Technologies unique is that we have the skillset and experience to seamlessly take on the entire project including (a) design, (b) integration, and (c) build out. The result is that our designs are sleek, sophisticated, and state of the art, while also being executable, practical, and smoothly integrated into your process and growth plan.
We are lean, responsive, and quick-to-results. DT’s founder, Scott Sims, drives every project and as such, he is our clients’ point-of-contact and hands-on problem solver throughout every engagement. There are no hand-offs to less experienced project managers, no bait and switch. Just one highly experienced point of contact and point of responsibility that assumes all the risks that the project will go as planned. The result is that our clients get no conflicting information, a clean smooth execution from discovery through design to delivery, supreme accountability, fast project turn times, and a single price tag that is free from the surcharge larger companies need to charge to cover their extensive payrolls.
Distribution Technologies was founded in 2003 and is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Founder and Chief Solutions Architect
Scott Sims began his career in 1990 selling equipment at Crown Equipment Corporation. However, he quickly grew out of sales and followed his interest and aptitude for designing and engineering materials handling processes and systems. He started and developed Crown’s Systems Group into a strong profit center that brought in over $2 million annually for the company. Scott founded Distribution Technologies with the goal of establishing an independent systems integration business that supports clients at each and every phase of project design and execution. His work philosophy is simple but unique: listen to the client and take the time to completely understand their business goals, forecasts, and needs. In this context Scott leverages his passion, meticulous standards, and three decades of extensive and diverse experience to deliver projects on time, within budget and with results that exceed his clients’ expectations.
Scott has a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Technology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He specializes in AutoCAD and Solid Works design software. Scott lives in Marin County with his wife and two children.
